What is a Loco Pilot?
A loco Pilot is a person responsible for managing trains and providing train maintenance while in motion. This is a senior position at Indian Railways and no candidate has worked directly for a Loco Pilot position. Pass the Locomotive Driver Hiring Exam, which can then be promoted to Loco Pilots and higher positions. The age limit for these candidates is 18 to 30 years old. Applicants applying for the Rail Locomotive Driving Exam must also complete an ITI course in a specific specialty.
The entrance exam for Assistant Loco Pilot conducted by RRB is a Computer-Based Test (CBT) and has the following 3 stages.
- CBT 1: 75 questions, 60 minutes
- CBT 2:
- Part A: 100 questions, 90 minutes.
- Part B: 75 questions, 60 minutes
- Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT)
- For SC/ST Category 05 years
- For OBC Category 03 years
- For Persons with Disabilities (PWD) Category 10 years
